Wall Construction Firm Donates Upkeep Services To Area Businesses

WALL, NJ - This family-owned Wall Township company is battling a certain biological agent that's threatening local businesses everywhere. It's not COVID-19 - it’s mold.

GreenWorks, an Allenwood-based environmental investigation, construction and decontamination company, is lending a hand to area businesses and emergency services to combat indoor air quality and environmental threats, which festered as buildings stood empty amid the pandemic.

Over the past few months, the company has provided its services free-of-charge to local establishments and medical services including Granny's Grill, S. Wall Firehouse, Howell EMS, Shark River EMS, Stumpy's Hatchet House and Kur Wellness.

"One of the biggest things we've been seeing in facilities that had shut down is when they come back and reopen, they're getting hit with a tremendous amount of issues," said Victor Coppola, Owner of GreenWorks, in a statement. "One of the most noticeable ones is mold. They had shut off their heating and AC to save money, and mold has moved in like nobody's business."

"We've got all this equipment, and it's not doing anyone any good just sitting here. We might as well use it to help businesses who need it most," said Coppola.

GreenWorks utilizes its SteraMist treatment, an ionized hydrogen peroxide spray, to treat surfaces and entire room environments. The treatment uses no toxic byproducts and makes a room completely safe to re-enter within minutes, according to a news release from the company.

In addition to the treatment itself, GreenWorks is providing a shielding agent to maintain cleanliness for 30 days.

"Our goal here isn't just to provide a quick fix to the community. We want to educate people on how they can better protect their businesses and customers," said Coppola. "There's so much misinformation about this stuff, and with so many businesses struggling out there, it would be a sin to not step in and guide people in the right direction. They can even incorporate these new cleanliness standards into their business model."
