Wall Invites Community To Take Part In 4th Annual Day Of Service
The day of community service is held on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and community members are welcome to participate.

WALL, NJ — The Wall Township School District is preparing for its fourth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and invites Wall residents to take part.
With the motto of "a day on, not a day off," there are donation drives for clothing, food, diapers, prom dresses, books and pet supplies, with the goal of assisting area charities.
On Monday, students will gather in the cafeteria at Wall Intermediate School to make cards for military members, home-bound seniors, and children in hospitals. They will help deliver baked goods to area first responders, and spend time with seniors at a local senior community doing a craft. at a local senior citizens’ community. They also will be painting rocks donated by Route 34 Landscape as part of Wall Rocks, a community art project.

The Day of Service will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and is sponsored by Wall Intermediate School National Junior Honor Society.
Participation in the event is open to area community members, parents and students. During the event, organizers are requesting that participants drop off:

- Nonperishable food items (peanut butter, pasta, rice, canned goods, cereal, etc.)
- New or gently used clothing, coats, and business attire
- Disposable diapers and baby wipes
- Pet supplies (canned and dry food, toys, clean used towels and sheets, etc.)
- Gently used prom dresses and tuxedos
- Gently used sports equipment (pads, cleats, bats, sticks, balls, etc. NO HELMETS)
- Children’s books
The event will benefit the following local nonprofit organizations: Manasquan Food Pantry, Child Care Resources of Monmouth County, Associated Humane Societies, The Salvation Army, Lunch Break, and Asbury Park Youth Football.
The goal is to give back to the community and perform acts of service to mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It has has benefitted hundreds of area families.
