Wall Library Announces December Events

Holiday programs abound at the library all month

 

The has announced its December events, full of holiday programs aimed at all ages and interests.

A showing of the film “Polar Express,” a timeless Christmas classic, is among the library’s offerings next month, which also include concerts, a book sale, puppet theater and a snow globe-making workshop.

Wall Library Marine Toys For Tots Drop Off Site
The Wall Library is an official "Marine Toys for Tots" 2011 Drop off Location. Please stop by the library and help make it a brighter holiday for area children by donating a new, unwrapped toy, appropriate for either boy or girl, age infant to 15 years. Deadline for drop off is December 9, 2011.

SNOW GLOBES: TEEN WORKSHOP
Thursday, December 1
6:30 – 8:30 PM
Join us to create a winter snow globe. For this activity please bring your own glass jar and lid.

A RAGTIME CHRISTMAS
Monday, December 5
6:30 – 7:30 PM
Join us and the Fred Lehotay Ragtime Band performs some special ragtime renditions of holiday favorites. Fred Lehotay and The Ragtimers are original members of the Ocean County String Band. Band members play and sing all the old time sentimental melodies and rousing classics with a holiday twist. This is a free concert!

HOLIDAY FAMILY FILM: THE POLAR EXPRESS
Thursday, December 8
3:00 – 4:50 PM
A special showing of this magical holiday tale of a young boy who still wants to believe in Santa even though his friends have “grown out of it.” Refreshments will be served and special prizes awarded so join us for this fun afternoon.

HOLIDAY BOOK SALE
Be there for our famous quarterly book sale and your opportunity to get great deals on used books, audios, videos, DVD’s, music and more. Book Sale is open during regular library hours. Monday, December 12, 2011 begins the $1 Bag Sale.

HOLIDAY MUSIC WITH THE FESTIVE FLUTES
Saturday, December 17
1:00 PM
There will be music in the air as The Festive Flutes perform a medley of holiday favorites for their annual stop at the Wall Library. So relax from the holiday hustle and bustle and enjoy the group known as “the Flute ensemble of the Jersey Shore” perform classical, traditional & modern favorites in the main library.

The Crabgrass Puppet Theatre Presents: MR. PUNCH’S CHRISTMAS CAROL
Saturday, December 17
2:00 – 3:00 PM
Beautifully crafted puppets tell the tale of the man who hated Christmas and put profits before people. An outrageous holiday hilarity, full of ghosts, giggles, geese, and Tiny Tim, too!
