Wall Police Investigating Smash-And-Grab Vehicle Burglaries

The burglaries involved locked vehicles parked at a recreation area; an unlocked vehicle at South Wall Little League was burglarized also.

WALL, NJ — Wall Township police are warning residents to lock their vehicles and not leave valuables in plain sight after reports of motor vehicle burglaries in the township.

Capt. Greg Carpino said the department is actively investigating the burglaries that happened April 28 at two locations.

Shortly before 2 p.m. someone broke the windows of two vehicles parked at 2100 Baileys Corner Road, which is the township's open space recreation area. The person then stole personal items left inside the vehicles, Carpino said.

At 2:40 p.m., police received a report of a theft from a vehicle park at the South Wall Little League fields, at 2300 Atlantic Ave., Carpino said. In that instance the thief went into an unlocked vehicle and stole personal items, he said.

The thefts remain under investigation. Anyone who may have seen anything or who may have information ris asked to call the Wall police department's Detective Bureau at 732-449-4800.
