Wall Police Recognized At Awards Event

The Monmouth County 200 Club had its 50th annual awards program on Friday.

WALL, N.J.— Wall Township Police Officers attended the 200 Club Annual Valor Awards luncheon at the Spring Lake Golf Club in Spring Lake, hosted by the Monmouth County 200 Club. This luncheon, which took place Friday, June 3, was the 50th annual awards luncheon, according to the 200 Club website.

The Valor Awards luncheon is hosted annually to honor police officers and first responder that go above and beyond in their daily course of duties.

Chief Kenneth Brown Jr. attended with Wall Township Police Officers who were recognized with various awards and commendations, according to a press release from the department.

The award was a 200 Club Commendation for Ptl. Tom Dowd, Ptl. Frank Kuhl, Ptl. Vincent Reinecke, Ptl. Jerry Baker, Ptl. Cole Kennedy, and Ptl. Joe Phillips, the department said.

On October 30, 2021 at approximately 1:55 p.m. the officers responded to a residence for an emotionally disturbed person holding a hammer and a screwdriver making suicidal and homicidal threats while on the driveway to the residence. After approximately 30 minutes of negotiations, the subject was safely taken into custody without incident and then transported to the hospital unharmed.

The 200 Club of Monmouth County is a nonprofit dedicated to first responders who risk their lives to protect and save others. With the support of our members and the community, it provides financial assistance to them and their families after an in the line of duty death or serious injury. A check to the family in need is delivered within 24 hours, with no questions asked.

The funds can be used in any way the family deems necessary, including funeral services, bills or medical assistance. Among the first responders we assist are police officers, firefighters, emergency personnel, and first aid of Monmouth County.
