Wall Police To Take Back Unwanted Prescription Drugs

The spring disposal event will also collect vape pens and other e-cigarette devices after batteries are removed, officials said.

WALL, NJ — Do you keep any unused prescription medications in your medicine cabinet? This is your chance to safely dispose of them.

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, April 30, and the Wall Township Police Department is organizing the opportunity to dispose of any unused and expired prescription drugs.

The goal is to help residents to rid their medicine cabinets of opioid painkillers, in addition to any other unneeded prescription medications. The Wall police station will serve as a drop-off location on April, 30 between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This spring's disposal event will also collect vape pens and other e-cigarette devices only after batteries are removed earlier. No syringes, sharp instruments, liquid medications, or solutions will be accepted.

Overdose deaths in the United States reached a new high last year, with over 100,000 reported in the 12-month period ending April 2021.
