As Car Thefts Rise Wall Police Urge Residents To Be Cautious

Police urge caution as southern Monmouth County sees an increase in vehicle thefts.

WALL, NJ — As Monmouth County has seen a significant increase in vehicle thefts, the Wall Township Police Department would like to remind all residents to exercise caution when leaving their cars parked.

Capt. Greg Carpino urges people to make sure they remove key fobs, personal items, and make sure their vehicles are locked when parked outside their homes. The pattern for these crimes has recently shifted from late night attacks and police are now expecting these thefts during daylight hours.

If a resident witnesses a potential theft, they are cautioned not to confront the suspect but to provide the location of the incident, description of the assailant, vehicle description and license plate number to the police.
