Wall Probation Officer Accused Of Witness Tampering
The officer is accused of violating a no-contact order in a case where he's accused of sexually assaulting a woman he supervised.
FREEHOLD, NJ — A probation officer from Wall Township who is facing charges of sexually assaulting a woman whose probation he supervised has been charged with witness tampering, after prosecutors allege he violated a no contact order with the victim in the sex assault case.
Henry C. Cirignano, 48, of Wall, is charged with one count of second-degree witness tampering, one count of third-degree terroristic threats and fourth-degree contempt of court by violating a no witness contact provision in a pretrial release order, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni announced.
Cirignano was arrested Feb. 4, 2019 on charges related to the sexual assault of a woman he supervised while on probation.

On Feb. 11, 2019, after a hearing and over the state’s objections, Cirignano was released from the Ocean County Jail on conditions ordered by the court, Gramiccioni said.
"These new charges are the result of an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office into conduct allegedly committed by Cirignano since his release from jail, culminating with the defendant’s arrest on Monday, April 1, 2019," Gramiccioni said.

Cirignano is being held in the Monmouth County jail in Freehold Township, pending a court appearance.
The witness tampering charge carries a potential 10-year sentence and the terroristic threats charge carries a potential 5-year prison sentence.
