Wall Schools Cancel Classes For Wednesday

The winter storm hammering much of the state is expected to bring up to a foot of snow to Monmouth County.

WALL, NJ — School district officials in Wall have canceled school for Wednesday, March 21, due to the ongoing winter storm.

The district had three emergency closure days built into the school calendar and used two days in January when the first big storm of the winter dropped a foot of snow. This will be the third. The district was spared during the last two storms that knocked out power to thousands of homes in the northern and western parts of the state and in Pennsylvania. Schools in those areas have piled up a week of snow days or more.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning on Tuesday morning that extends through early Thursday for a nor'easter that is expected to hit in two waves. Forecasters have said it could bring at least 12 inches to most of Monmouth County, with some parts seeing as much as 18 inches potentially.
