Discolored Water In Wall? Could Be Hydrant Flushing
Residents may notice a discoloration in the water when hydrants will be flushed in their areas of town, officials said.
WALL, NJ — Wall Township has announced that the spring flushing of fire hydrants will take place from April 4 to May 6.
Flushing fire hydrants removes minerals and sediment that have accumulated over time and ensures that all fire hydrants are in good working order, officials said.
During the flushing, residents may experience a difference in water pressure and discoloration of the water, officials said. Run the cold-water tap only until it runs clear if it is discolored.

Although the water is safe to drink during this time, residents should avoid doing laundry and running hot water because mineral sediments can build up in your water heater, officials said.
