Wall Will Increase Presence At Schools After Texas Shooting
Wall will implement its School Safety Initiative, police say.
WALL, N.J.— The Wall Township Police Department has alerted residents that it will increase its presence at all of the public schools and continue with the School Safety Initiative, following the deadly school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Police departments across the state are following state protocols to increase patrols.
The Wall Township Police Department School Safety Initiative consists of the following:
- Patrol officers are present at commencement and dismissal times at all public schools.
- Patrol officers conduct daily walk-throughs of all public schools.
- The police department has conducted critical incident response and school safety training with Wall Public School staff members.
- Wall Public School faculty, staff and students have participated in the A.L.I.C.E. model(Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) for response to active assailant on school grounds.
- The police department has conducted critical incident and tactical training with the school security officers and an integrated critical incident response between patrol officers and school security officers.
- The police department conducts numerous community outreach programs that address bullying, safe driving and drug and alcohol awareness in the public schools.
- Patrol officers conducting high visibility traffic enforcement in school zones and in the areas of bus stops.
- Mobile radar display units and mobile message boards deployed into our school zones.
These initiatives are part of the Wall Township Police Departments continued efforts to provide
a safe environment for our students and faculty staff.
