WATCH: Dashcam Video Of State Trooper's DWI Arrest

The state trooper accused of rear-ending a car at a Parkway rest area is seen on another trooper's dashcam saying he is not drunk.

The New Jersey state trooper who is charged with drunk driving in a crash at the Garden State Parkway’s Monmouth rest area in Wall told a responding trooper he was not drunk, dashcam footage released this week shows.

NJ.com obtained the video recording from the dashcam of the responding trooper. The footage shows Sgt. First Class Michael Roadside of Cinnaminson saying he hadn’t been drinking following the two-car accident.

“I’m not drunk,” Roadside told the trooper who answered a 911 call from Kimberly Wilson of Middletown, whose Audi Roadside is accused of hitting Oct. 26, while she was stopped at a stop sign at the rest area.

Roadside, who remains suspended without pay after the crash, blamed his slurred speech and impaired walking on a recent medical procedure, claiming he was “on anesthesia” at the time of the crash.

“I’ve got to get home,” Roadside told the trooper police dashboard video.

He offered to pay for the damage to the woman’s car, which police described as “minor.”

Wilson told police Roadside offered her $1,000 not to report the incident.

The NJ.com report said that in addition to smelling strongly of alcohol, state troopers responding to the accident found two open containers of beer and a partially empty 12-pack in Roadside’s cruiser.
