Woman, 85, Struck And Killed Crossing Monmouth County Road

The fatal crash remains under investigation, authorities said.

SPRING LAKE, NJ — An 85-year-old woman was killed Saturday when she was hit by a vehicle while crossing Allaire Road, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said Sunday.

The victim, who has not been identified, was crossing Allaire Road at Old Mill Road when she was hit about 1:20 p.m., the prosecutor's office said.

The investigation found a 70-year-old man driving a 2023 Nissan Rogue was attempting to turn left from the southbound-side of Old Mill Road onto eastbound Allaire Road when he hit the woman, the prosecutor's office said.

The woman was pronounced dead at 1:56 p.m., the prosecutor's office said. The driver remained on scene.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and the Spring Lake Heights Police Department responded.
