2 Men Arrested In Gunpoint Robbery In Warren

WARREN, NJ — Two men were charged with robbing two people at gunpoint of cash in Warren early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

At about 1:38 a.m. two victims called 911 reporting an armed robbery in the area of Quail Run in Warren Township, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.

The victims said they were robbed at gunpoint of cash by two men and gave police a description of the vehicle and of the two men, Robertson said. The victims were not injured during the robbery.

A short time later, Dunellen Police saw the wanted vehicle driving in town. They stopped the vehicle and found the two men matched the description provided of the suspects by Warren Township Police.

The men were identified as Quinton D. Parks, 30, of South Avenue, Plainfield, and Jose I. Lopez, 25, of W. Francis Street, Iselin.

Warren Police Detectives and Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit determined the armed robbery was an isolated incident and found that one of the men knew one of the victims, Robertson said.

Parks and Lopez were each charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree possession of CDS (Marijuana over 1 ounce but less than 5 pounds) with the intent to distribute. Parks and Lopez were each taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.
