3 Arrested After Early Morning Break-In, Cop Car Rammed In Warren Township: Police
A Warren Township resident called 911, saying people were breaking into their home early Sunday morning.
WARREN, NJ — Three people were charged after police say they broke into a home with residents inside, rammed a cop car, and then tried to run away, said Warren Township Chief of Police Robert W. Ferreiro on Monday.
On Sunday at around 4:10 a.m., Warren Township Police got a 911 call from a resident reporting that people were actively trying to enter their home on Partridge Run.
Officers found a stolen vehicle outside the home. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, it drove toward them, hitting a police vehicle before speeding away, said Ferreiro.

A police chase began, where officers used a tire deflation device. Officers chased the stolen vehicle for several miles.
The stolen vehicle ultimately became disabled, and three people were taken into custody after trying to run away, said Ferreiro.

Jalen A. Cherenfant, 20, of Irvington, was charged with second-degree burglary by entering an occupied residence, second-degree conspiracy, second-degree eluding, third-degree receiving stolen property, disorderly persons offense for burglary tools, and disorderly persons offense for criminal mischief.
Lamont L. Crumbley, 21, of Irvington, was charged with second-degree burglary by entering an occupied residence, second-degree conspiracy, fourth-degree eluding, third-degree receiving stolen property, disorderly persons offense for burglary tools, and disorderly persons offense for criminal mischief.
Abdul W. Stewart, 19, of East Orange, was charged with second-degree burglary by entering an occupied residence, second-degree conspiracy, fourth-degree eluding, third-degree receiving stolen property, disorderly persons offense for burglary tools, and disorderly persons offense for criminal mischief.
Warren Township Police thanked the Bernards Township Police Department, Watchung Police Department, Long Hill Township Police Department, Somerset County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and the New Jersey State Police Somerville Station for their help.
Ferreiro stated that the department will continue to maintain a strong and visible presence and will respond decisively to individuals who target homes in Warren Township.
"Our residents have the right to feel safe in their homes — not worried — and we will continue to take swift and deliberate action against those who threaten that sense of security. Crimes involving residential burglaries, whether homes are occupied or unoccupied, are taken seriously, and those responsible will be pursued and held accountable."
