Contested Primary Set For 1 Warren Township Committee Seat

The Republican primary will be contested with two candidates running while the Democratic primary only has one candidate running.

WARREN, NJ — Monday was the deadline to file for the upcoming primary election in June. Three candidates have announced their intention to run for the one open Warren Township Committee seat.

Incumbent Committeewoman Jolanta Maziarz and challenger Lisa Lontai filed as Republicans while Kimberly Dunn Meynell filed as a Democrat for the township's only open seat. The Republican primary is contested while the Democratic primary is not.

Maziarz first took office in 2020 and has since served as a liaison for the Board of Education, Finance, Library, Recreation, and Senior Citizens committees.

Lontai is a School Nurse at Warren Middle School who was selected as N.J. School Nurse of the year in 2019 for the State of New Jersey. She has a Master's Degree in Nursing from Rutgers University and a Family Nurse Practitioner Degree from Felician University, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Dunn Meynell is a Bioanalytical Mass Spectrometrist, according to her LinkedIn profile.

New Jersey's primary election will be held on June 8 and the general election on Nov. 2. The one winning candidate will serve a 3-year term on the township committee.
