$7,000 Stolen Due To Identity Theft In Warren

Multiple incidents of fraud and identity theft were reported in Warren including one resulting in the theft of $7,000: Police blotter.

WARREN, NJ —Multiple incidents of fraud and identity theft were reported in Warren recently, including one resulting in the theft of $7,000, police report.

Warren Police Blotter:

On Sept. 14 at 10:17 a.m.: An incident of fraud was reported. A victim advised a purchase was made in Warren Township using a fraudulent credit card.

On Sept. 9 at 5:54 p.m.: A motor vehicle accident was reported on Morning Glory Road. Azam Ali, 22, of Union, attempted to pass a vehicle over the double yellow and struck a Scotch Plains driver who was backing out of a driveway. Both drivers were transported to Overlook for minor injuries by the Warren Township Rescue Squad. The on-call duty hook responded for both vehicles. Ali was issued summonses for failure to wear a seat belt, unlicensed, failure to maintain lane, improper passing and careless driving.

On Aug. 24 at 7:01 p.m.: A resident of Old Stirling Road reported a theft of two bicycles.

On Aug, 24 at 3:08 p.m.: A Tulip Court resident reported an incident of identity theft. Patrol advised an unknown person accessed two Wells Fargo accounts and removed approximately $7,000 worth of funds. The accounts were closed.

On Aug. 20 at 3:10 p.m.: A Longford Court resident reported an incident of identity theft. Multiple accounts were opened in the victim's name.
