Police Body-Worn Cameras Now Worn By All Warren Officers

These cameras will be worn by all officers on the force in Warren Township.

WARREN, NJ — All Warren Township Police Officers are now wearing newly purchased body-worn cameras as pursuant to the New Jersey Attorney General Guidelines.

Effective on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 7 a.m., officers began wearing the Focus X2 Mission Critical cameras which will be affixed on their outer vest carriers positioned in the upper torso/chest area.

All uniformed personnel and plainclothes officers when applicable will be using the cameras while they work.

Keane noted that in some instances there were complaints stating officers acted in a certain way when they didn't. The cameras would help prove that, said Keane.

This initiative to implement cameras in Warren comes after Murphy signed legislation in November 2020 requiring all New Jersey law enforcement to wear body cameras, citing the need for increased transparency and in the interest of improving interactions with the public.
