WARREN, NJ — The Somerset County Library System of New Jersey has opened a self-service book locker at its Warren Township branch, giving residents around-the-clock access to borrow books, audiobooks and multimedia materials without needing to visit during regular library hours.
The locker is located outside the branch at 42 Mountain Blvd. in Warren and operates contact-free at any hour of the day. Whether patrons are commuting early in the morning, running errands late at night or looking for a quick pickup option, the kiosk ensures library access is always available.
"We realize that many individuals' schedules in our community don't always fit into traditional library hours," said Darryl Voorhees, Warren Township branch manager. "The book locker bridges that gap. It's an extension of our commitment to literacy, accessibility, and meeting our patrons exactly where they are."
Using the locker takes less than a minute. Patrons log into their online library account, browse the catalog and select "Warren Township Branch Pickup Locker" as their pickup location. Once items are loaded into the locker, patrons receive an email notification that their materials are ready. They then visit the kiosk, scan their library card or enter their library card number, and a secure door automatically opens to their items.
Residents can sign up for a library card or find more information at sclsnj.org.
