WARREN, NJ — Two dozen roads across Warren Township are scheduled for paving this year under the township's 2026 annual road overlay program, the Township Committee announced.
The program represents the township's continued commitment to investing in local infrastructure and improving roadway conditions throughout the community, officials said. The 2026 program covers 5 miles of roadway at a cost of $945,800.
"Maintaining safe and reliable roads is one of the most important services local government provides," Deputy Mayor Vanessa Kian said. "The Township Committee remains committed to making strategic investments in infrastructure and continuing the steady progress residents have seen in recent years."
The following streets are currently scheduled for paving:
Over the last five years, the Township Committee has allotted more than $4.96 million for road overlay, paving, or scheduling for paving, more than 23 miles of local roads since 2022:
"Over the last several years, Warren Township has made significant progress investing in our local roads, but we know there is still more work ahead," said Township Committeeman and Public Works Liaison Daniel Croson. "This year's overlay program continues our long-term commitment to improving infrastructure throughout the community and addressing roadway needs in every part of town."
In addition to the annual overlay program, which is included in the municipal budget, the Warren Township Engineering Department has run a parallel program leveraging grant funds from the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the paving of the township's longer roads. Without this funding, officials said, including those roads in the local overlay would consume a majority of the budget and prevent other residential streets from being paved. In recent years, NJDOT funding has been used to pave King George Road and Mountain View Road.
The next phase of that program, looking ahead to 2027 and 2028, will include Valley View Road and Reinman Road. The Engineering Department is developing plans for submission to NJDOT, and once approval is granted, the township will move forward with bidding and construction.
