Bicyclist Hit By Car, Hospitalized In Warren

A driver, who was stopped in the center lane of I-78, was also charged with driving under the influence recently: Warren Police Blotter.

WARREN, NJ — A bicyclist was hit by a car and hospitalized on Sunday in Warren.

On Sunday at 11:12 a.m., James T. Kelly, 19, of Green Brook was driving east on Washington Valley Road when he turned right into the Bardy Farms Shopping Center hitting Daniel Wang, 45, of Metuchen on his bike, said Warren Police.

Wang was taken to the Morristown Memorial Hospital. Kelly was issued a summons for failure to yield.

On Saturday at 3:50 a.m.: New Jersey State Police requested Warren Police to got to Interstate 78 East just before exit 40 for a vehicle stopped in the center lane, said Warren Police.

Ricardo Huarniz, 34, of West Orange was arrested by Warren Police for driving under the influence and taken him to headquarters for processing. Huarniz was released and given a future court date. An on-call tow company came to remove the vehicle.

On Sunday at 11:25 a.m.: A car crashed into a tree in the driveway of a home on Mount Horeb Road. A 60-year-old Warren man was driving south on Geiger Lane when the vehicle had a mechanical failure, causing it to roll backward across Mount Horeb Road, coming to a rest against a tree. Both the driver and passenger refused medical treatment.
