Bubble-iciously Fun: You Can Try This at Home!
Ten gallons of bubble juice = many happy kids (and adults). Well tested recipe included.

What says summer more than a bubble festival?
On July 27 kids were treated to a special “Bubble Science” program designed by Long Hill Township Library Youth Services librarian Vicky Kulikowski.
The kids bubbled up bunches of bubbles with bubble making wands set up on the patio. Inside the library, kids learned a bit about the science of bubbles by making their own “bubble skeletons,” creating “bubble windows,” and other bubble-y activities.

It was bubble-iciously fun! But why should we have all the fun at the library? You can make seriously good bubble juice at home and have a backyard bubble fest.
Vicky made 10 gallons of bubble juice for the library bubble fest using this basic recipe.

Our bubble recipe:
- 1 quart of water
- 4 ounces of dish washing liquid (we found that Joy works best!)
- 3 tablespoons of glycerin
Mix together, without creating lots of foam, and let sit for at least 10 hours. Then have fun and take pictures! We'd love to see them.
The highlight of our day was the swimming pool bubbles. Children lined up and watched as Ms. Kulikowski and an assistant created huge bubbles around kids who were standing on a stool.
“I’m so pleased that the kids enjoyed the program,” said Ms. Kulikowski. “One child told me this is the coolest library he’s ever been to!.”
