Early Engagement in Early Childhood Education

Engaging your child into the community begins before preschool. There are many ways to begin a relationship with other families with young children by seeking a program with continuity.

What is Early Engagement? Early Engagement is the first stepping stone on the bridge to full partnership with families. By engaging families at early stages in their development with programs including “mommy and me” type classes, they develop a relationship with the community and the school they attend and reconnect at each milestone along the way.  Families need to feel invested, connected and involved early in their children’s educational experiences. Schools benefit by offering early childhood classes, parent support groups and opportunities for parents to socialize. The community benefits when a school offers a “drop-in” program, enabling parents and caregivers to grab a cup of coffee together, attend a meeting or plan a playgroup outside the home.
