Roman Holiday with a Latin touch

WHREA Latin teacher attends course on Caesar and Vergil in Italy this summer

Watchung Hills Latin teacher Noah Stanzione is furthering his knowledge and teaching skills in Italy this summer. Mr. Stanzione is taking part in a workshop for Latin teachers from the 12th to the 23rd of July under the auspices of Clark University in Atlanta, home to the prestigious Vergilian Society, an organization dedicated to celebrating the ties of culture between Italy and the United States. The workshop combines morning classroom sessions with afternoon visits to relevant historic sites which serve to illuminate the lives and works of Caesar and Vergil. The course’s study sessions provide ideas and skills to enrich both beginning and advanced Latin classes with a focus on readings and the abilities required by the AP Latin syllabus.

Mr. Stanzione is pictured here (front row seated left) with his study group at Vergil’s tomb in Naples, Italy. The WHREA wishes Mr. Stanzione a wonderful and educational experience in Italy and salutes his dedication to his craft.

Bonus labor Magister Stanzione!
