WHRHS teacher Ryan Murray to be key speaker at Kean Holocaust event

WHRHS Social Studies teacher featured at Kean University Conference

Ryan Murray is a dedicated teacher who has a passion for educating students about the history of genocide and about the Holocaust in particular. Mr. Murray has tripled enrollment in Watchung Hills’s Holocaust and Genocide courses and been awarded the Jack Zeifman Humanitarian Award for his outstanding instruction on Holocaust and Genocide studies. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Holocaust Studies from Kean University, where he has been invited to speak as part of Kean’s Genocide Awareness Week held between the 4th and 11th of April. Mr. Murray will be speaking together with another well-known Genocide educator, Marcia Sachs Littell, with Paul Winkler, the executive director of the NJ Commission on Holocaust Education, and with former Governor Kean on April 9th between 7:00 and 9:00 pm in Stem Auditorium on the Kean campus.

The WHREA is proud to count an impassioned and highly professional educator like Ryan Murray among its teaching staff. We hope you will come out to hear Mr. Murray talk at Kean’s Stem Auditorium (see map) on Tuesday, April 9th about Genocide and Holocaust education in general, as well as specifically about his program at Watchung Hills that includes highly educational field trips outside the school, together with guest speakers who visit WHRHS several times a year. Mr. Murray enriches social studies offerings at the high school while also bringing acclaim to the Watchung Hills community and we thank him.
