'Brothers Helping Brothers' for Injured Firefighter
Fundraiser at Rolf's to benefit Warren man injured in auto accident.
Steven Russo looked at the crowd at that gathered Sunday afternoon and said seeing such a crowd participating in a fundraiser for his benefit made him feel better.
"I didn't expect this," he said.
Russo sustained serious injuries in an early morning accident on July 17, when the vehicle he was a passenger in went off Mountain Avenue and hit a utility pole. He's undergone surguries and therapy to begin healing, but expenses have accumulated and he's unable to return to work.

To help, Brennan Gaiser and Warren's volunteer firefighters organized Sunday's event, which included raffles and T-shirts sales to further the fundraising. A series of bands and musicians performed on the stage at Rolf's.
The firefighters undertook the project in appreciation for the support Russo and his family have given to the local volunteer compnaies: Russo is a member of , his brother is a firefighter at , and other members of his family have been active in the local fire companies for many years.
