The Calais School Hosts Parent Open House
The Calais School, in Whippany, is hosting a series of Open Houses just for Parents

The Calais School is hosting a series of Open Houses geared towards parents interested in finding out more about the innovative academic programs at The Calais School. The first Open House of the year is on Friday September 19, 2014 at 9:00am. Highlights of the program include Animal Adaptive Therapy, differentiated and integrated academic programs aligned with NJ Core Curriculum, a cognitive/behavioral counseling team that provides social skills training, cognitive strategies and emotional support, Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that provide career path training, Transition education to provide career and college exploration opportunities, Learning consultants that supervise IEP implementation and consult with teachers and child study teams, Reading and speech-language specialists, Occupational therapy, psychiatric support and a school nurse. The program provides academic and social integration in all activities. It features a safe and nurturing environment. Classes are taught by special education teachers.
