Chai Center to Host Purim Party
Chai Center for Jewish Life will
hold a Purim Party on Saturday, March 15, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at The Barons
of Basking Ridge Clubhouse.
Purim
celebrates the time in Persia during King Ahasuerus’ rule when Queen Esther
prevented an evil prime minister from destroying the Jewish community.
The evening’s celebration will
provide a variety of fun activities for the entire family. Following a Havdalah
service marking the end of Shabbat, the party will feature a reading of the
Megillah, the Book of Esther. It will be accompanied by a Purim Spiel, a
humorous play retelling the story. There
will also be games and activities for children.
The party will include wine sampling
for the adults and a dessert reception for everyone. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume
or a mask and bring a dessert to share. Admission is free and open to the
public.
The Barons Clubhouse is located on
Dexter Drive North, Basking Ridge. For
more information, or to RSVP, email Info@ChaiCenterNJ.org
or call 908-864-7788.
