Community Mourns Watchung Hills Grad's 'Untimely' Death

WARREN, NJ — Remembered for his fun-loving attitude that always made others laugh, the community is mourning the "untimely" death of Calvan "DjCalZz" Davis, a Watchung Hills Class of 2017 graduate.

Davis was described as being a "wonderfully talented compassionate young man" with a "bright light" and "caring soul."

"To those of you knew him or knew of him, you were blessed to have had that opportunity to be in the presence of the vibrant and life-loving person he was. May he rest in heaven," according to a GoFundMe site set up for Davis' family.

The fundraising site was started to help Davis' family cover funeral expenses.

Funeral services have been set for Monday, Sept. 9 at Stonecrest Community Church, 11 Technology Drive, in Warren, according to tapinto.net.

Davis leaves behind his mother Latisha, and two siblings Kyle and Kaylin.

"Thank you for respecting the family’s privacy and allowing them to grieve Calvan’s untimely passing," according to a GoFundMe site.

No other information into Davis' death was provided.

Many reached out to the family to share their condolences:

"Had the pleasure of teaching Kyle, Kaylin, and Calvan. They are a family I’ll never forget. So saddened by this news but I know Calvan’s spirit will live on," said one mourner.

"My condolences to the family. He was a wonderful person," said another mourner.
