County Clerk's Office Extends Hours for Voters

The Somerset County Clerk's Office is extending its hours to accommodate voters who are unable to get to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4

The Somerset County Clerk’s Office will remain open until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, for in-person voting. In addition, the County Clerk’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Voters can visit the County Clerk’s Office, located in the lobby of the county Administration Building at 20 Grove St., to apply for an in-person ballot. Applications for ballots are available online at: http://www.co.somerset.nj.us/clerk/votebymail.htm.

If an application is submitted by mail, the County Clerk’s Office must receive it by Tuesday, Oct. 28 (seven days prior to the election). This will allow time for the ballot to be mailed back to the applicant.

Voters, or authorized messengers for voters, may visit the County Clerk’s Office during office hours up until 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, to fill out an application and receive an absentee ballot.

Completed ballots can be mailed to the Somerset County Election Board, PO Box 3000, Somerville NJ 08876. Ballots also can be dropped off at the Board of Elections, located next to the County Clerk’s Office in the county Administration Building. Ballots must be delivered by 8 p.m. on election night (Tuesday, Nov. 4).

The Somerset County Clerk’s Office administers oath to notaries public, processes passport applications and records land records and related legal documents that deal with land situated in Somerset County.
