Deadline Extended for Profiles of Positive Aging Nominations
Deadline Extended to April 10
Somerset County Freeholder Brian D. Levine announced that the county Office on Aging and Disability Services is seeking nominations for the sixth annual “Profiles of Positive Aging” recognition. The program honors residents age 60 and above who inspire others and bring continuity to the fabric of their communities.
“It is our pleasure to highlight the achievements of Somerset County residents age 60 and above,” said Freeholder Levine, human services liaison. “In keeping with the theme for Older Americans Month, ‘Get into the Act,’ we are recognizing individuals who are active and engaged in their own lives and in their communities.”
Due by Friday, April 10, nominations can come from any source, including friends, self or organizations.

To be eligible for the 2015 “Profiles of Positive Aging” recognition, a nominee must:
- Be at least 60 years old and a resident of Somerset County;
- Contribute to others by setting examples for health and community engagement. Examples include leading self-help groups, engaging in health-promotion activities, serving on health or safety committees, and participating in consumer protection projects.
- Have not been recognized for this award in the past.
Completed nomination forms can be sent to Cynthia Voorhees, Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services, PO Box 3000, Somerville NJ 08876. Forms also may be faxed to (908) 595-0194 or submitted via email to voorhees@co.somerset.nj.us.

Honorees will be notified by phone. Individuals will be recognized by the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders on the evening of May 12, in honor Older Americans Month.
