Driver Dies After Crossing Into Oncoming I-78 Traffic In Warren

The deadly crash, where 1 driver was killed and another had serious injuries, was reported early Tuesday morning.

WARREN, NJ — A driver who crossed over into oncoming traffic on I-78 in Warren early Tuesday morning has died, NJ State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele said.

The crash was reported at 5:58 a.m. when a Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on I-78 in the area of mile marker 40.8 in Warren when it crossed over the median into eastbound traffic hitting a Honda CRV, Peele said.

The driver of the Honda was seriously injured while the driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead, Peele said.

Both drivers were the only occupants inside their vehicles. Lanes on I-78 eastbound were closed during the investigation and have since reopened.
