BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonder and the beauty of nature as summer begins to wind down in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

CHILDREN & TEEN PROGRAMS
Story Hour
Saturday, September 7 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Children ages infant to 5 with a parent will listen to a Naturalist read an
environmental-based story and enjoy a short walk on the trails of
the EEC.
The program is free.

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS
Early Birds Paddle
Tuesday, September 3 from 6:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M.
Paddlers will start the day on a quiet paddle along the Passaic River to enjoy swamp sights in the early morn.
Fee is $30 per person.

Forest Fitness
Tuesdays, September 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.
Adults are invited to join a weekly walking group, enjoying nature along
the level trails of Lord Stirling Park.
Fee is $20 for the 4-day session.

Birding Along the Canal
Wednesday, September 4 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Adult birders will join a Naturalist for an afternoon of local bird
watching along the Delaware and Raritan Canal.
Fee is $20 per person.

Blue “BOBO (Buy One – Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch
Park in Bridgewater. The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
