'Energy efficiency strategies for the home and the incentives available'
This talk presented by Terry Carruthers from 'Creative Energy' in Millington, NJ will include an overview of how a house reacts with its environment; i.e .sun, wind, heating and cooling, it's internal systems and occupants, heat loss, common terms used; btu's, r-values, u-value, the importance of air sealing and insulation, the different types of insulation and their uses, precautions to take. Other topics would include ducts and their weaknesses, moisture issues and control thereof. The talk will finish with an overview of any programs available to pay for energy retrofits.
