Two people were killed in the crash after a three mile pursuit.

Two people were killed in a crash after a police chase on I-78.
According to New Jersey State Police, troopers attempted to stop a Honda driving erratically on on I-78 westbound at around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday in Berkeley Heights.
The driver of the Honda failed to stop, police said.

Troopers then followed the vehicle for approximately three miles before the driver lost control and ran off the road into a wooded area, police said. The two male occupants in the car were deceased.
At the same location, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in a separate crash. The driver of the vehicle was flown to Morristown Memorial with serious injuries and the pedestrian was transported by ambulance to the same hospital.

There were no troopers hurt during either incident.
The incident is currently under investigation. Police say there is no further information available at this time.
