“’Keep the brotherhood,’ our team needs to stay together no matter what happens”.

Entering his senior season, Matt Rozmerski is ready for the Watchung Hills Warriors Lacrosse team to climb the rankings and land inside the Top 20 teams in New Jersey.

Rozmerski has high expectations for the Warriors saying, “ We will do very well against any opponent, hopefully state champs.”

The Warriors finished the 2013 season 10-8, placing 33rd in the state. Rozmerski, the three-year starting defenseman, was elected to be one of the team’s captains for the 2014 season.

“We can play well together. Offensively putting the ball in the net and defensively getting the ball on the ground and to our offense,” said Rozmerski when asked about the team’s strength.

After his junior year, Rozmerski was chosen to be a member of the Garden State Challenge. He also committed to Cabrini College in his senior season, but he is focused on improving with his team, saying, “I am not even focused on college yet, my mind is on the Watchung Hills High 2014 lacrosse season.”

Rozmerski is one of the leaders of the lacrosse team, trying to be fiery to motivate his team during the games and practices. However, off the field he tries to be a brother, looking out for his team.

Commenting on Rozmerski was Head Coach Jamie Lovejoy, who said, "Matt is a tenacious player. His desire to improve physically and his willingness to develop his knowledge of the game over the course of the past three years have lead him to become a complete defensive player. The high level of accountable he holds for his teammates is unmatched. He has established himself as the type of player and leader we need to be successful."
