Hit-And-Run Driver Damages Street Signs, Property In Warren

Multiple fraud incidents were also reported in the borough recently, according to police.

WARREN, NJ — A hit-and-run motor vehicle crash was reported on Deerwood Trail West in Warren on April 23 at 4:44 p.m.

An unknown driver had struck a stop sign and street sign as well, causing minor property damage to 24 Deerwood Trail West, Warren Police reported.

On April 20 at 1:46 p.m.: An employee of Independence Boulevard reported bank fraud. Total monetary loss of the transaction was $9,700.

On April 23 at 9:42 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Nicole Lane, Chandra Chacon, 34, of Piscataway was arrested for driving under the influence. She was transported to headquarters, processed and released pending a court date. Chacon was issued summonses for driving under the influence, speeding, reckless driving, careless driving, driving while suspended, touring privileges and failure to signal. The on call duty hook responded.

On April 24 at 8:14 a.m.: A Whispering Way resident reported an incident of fraud. The victim reported a monetary loss of $1,800.

On April 24 at 2:18 p.m.: A Timber Ridge Drive resident reported an incident of identity theft. The actor opened a fraudulent credit card account using the victim's information.

On April 26 at 10:31 a.m.: A resident of Downington Court reported an incident of identity theft. An unknown party had opened a Citibank Visa account using the victim's information.
