Man Found Dead On Front Lawn Of North Plainfield Home

The New Jersey State Medical Examiner's Office determined that it does not appear that the man suffered any type of trauma, police said.

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Authorities are investigating the cause of death of a man found lying on the front lawn of a North Plainfield home on Saturday morning.

On Sept. 5 at 9:20 a.m., North Plainfield Police and Fire Department went to 3 Myrtle Ave. where they found a man dead and lying on his back on the front lawn, North Plainfield Lt. Edward C. Ciempola said.

Paramedics from JFK Medical Center were also called out and pronounced the man dead.

The man was later identified as Jose Armando Garcia-Palencia, 50, who lived on the third floor of 11 Myrtle Ave., Ciempola said.

The North Plainfield Police Department and the Medical Examiner are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding his cause of death.
