N.J. Man Killed On I-78 After Car Goes Underneath Truck In Hunterdon County

​A 37-year-old man was killed in an accident on an N.J. highway this week after the car slid partially under a truck, police said.

A 37-year-old New Jersey man was killed in an accident on an N.J. highway this week after the car slid partially under a truck, police said.

Police identified Gary Sliker of Lopatcong, driving a Ford Focus, as the victim of a crash on I-78 in Hunterdon County early Monday.

Sliker struck the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the right side of I-78 at 8:23 a.m. and then went underneath the back of the trailer, according to nj.com.

Sliker was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

The two right lanes of the eastbound highway were closed following the accident and were reopened four hours later.
