One person was killed, 3 others hurt in two plane crashes in New Jersey, authorities say.

One person was killed and three others were hurt in two separate plane crashes in New Jersey over the past 24 hours. Both crashes were within 30 miles of each other.
An aircraft crashed in area of Airport Road in Green Township in Sussex County on Sunday, according to the State Police. The pilot was pronounced dead.
No passengers were on board. The Federal Aviation Administration was called in to investigate.

On Saturday night, a plane with three people aboard caught fire and crashed in New Jersey, authorities said.

The accident happened around 10:33 p.m., when emergency personnel were dispatched to the 400 Block of Pittstown Road in Franklin Township in Hunterdon County for the small plane crash and fire, according to the Quakertown Fire Co., which assisted on the scene.

Franklin Township Police were on the scene within a minute, where they assisted 3 patients who were in "trauma," according to authorities.
Emergency personnel responded to assist and all three patients were transported to nearby Sky Manor Airport, and then flown to trauma centers at the Morristown Medical Center and in Fountain Hill, Pa., at St. Luke's Hospital.
Emergency personnel then worked on the scene of the crash and put out the fire.
