New TD Bank Boasts Energy Efficiency
Second location in Warren puts branch closer to area clients.
Banks pride themselves on being careful with money, but only the new TD Bank in Warren shows its customers how little is being spent on heating and lights.
The branch, which opened Friday at the intersection of Liberty Corner and Mountainview roads, is LEED Gold certified, meaning it's about as energy efficient as is possible (the Platinum certification is the only higher designation). Using solar energy for much of its electrical requirements, the building also makes use of solar heat and light, with large windows creating a bright workspace inside.
"This is the first 'green store' for TD Bank in the area," said Syed Masihuddin, the branch's manager.

For the curious, the bank lobby has an energy monitor so customers can check on the carbon footprint of the bank.
But most will be more interested in the bank services available at the site.

"For investments, we partner with TD-Ameritrade," Masihuddin said. "We are everything ... we handle loans, mortgages and deposits right here."
He added the bank also offers wealth management services.
The Liberty Corner location is Warren's second TD Bank, with another at 63 Mountain Blvd.
"Warren is a growing town and we're on the western corner," Masihuddin said. "We're also touching on our Basking Ridge and Bernards clients here."
The new bank will hold a grand opening April 9, with promotions planned for those visiting.
Masihuddin brings more than 25 years of experience to the new branch, having "done it all" along the way, he said.
"We're open for business, so bring it on!" he added.
