A New Jersey man was killed this week after a wall collapsed on him, police said. New Jersey resident Jose Martins, 67, was working at a construction site at 190 Beach 67 St. in Queens just after 2:18 p.m. on Tuesday when a wall collapsed on him, according to police. EMS rushed Martins to St. John's Hospital, where he died. Martins was buried in debris when the wall came tumbling down inside the building, according to <a href="https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/ny-queens-construction-worker-wall-collapse-20190730-d62zhjbe5reidazfrrzr7h24su-story.html" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">The New York Daily News</a>. Firefighters worked to remove him from the rubble, and then medics tried to revive him at the scene. Workers were building a seven-story, 126-unit apartment building, according to the report. The medical examiner's office will determine the exact cause of death. This is a developing story. Patch will have more information as it comes in.
