All Lanes Closed On Route 22 Following Overnight Bus Crash

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ — All lanes on Route 22 East are closed in Mountainside following an overnight bus crash.

Overnight a New Jersey Transit bus hit a utility pole near the AMC Movie Theater causing a pole and wires to fall onto the highway.

Traffic will be routed through Echo lake Park and onto South Springfield Avenue. Expect the highway to be closed until 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Residents in the area should prepare for power outages in that area as PSE&G begins to make repairs.
