Rash Of Car Thefts, Burglaries Reported In Warren

There have been 9 reported incidents this past month. All of the vehicles were locked and/or had the keys left inside, Warren Police report.

WARREN, NJ — Warren Police are pleading with residents to lock their vehicle and to not leave the key fob in the vehicle! following a recent rash of motor vehicle thefts and burglaries in the township.

Police sent out the alert urging residents to comply on Thursday afternoon.

There have been nine reported incidents this past month including four stolen vehicles and five burglarized vehicles.

Here are the most recent crimes:

On Aug. 20 at 7:02 a.m.: A Raspberry Trail resident reported their vehicle was stolen from their driveway. The vehicle was unlocked with keys and paperwork inside.

On Aug. 18 at 10:29 a.m.: A resident of Chesterfield Drive reported a theft of a motor vehicle. At an unknown time between Aug. 13 and Aug. 15 a white Audi Q5 was stolen from the driveway. The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside. The vehicle was recovered by Newark Police on Aug. 18.

On Aug. 15 at 6:54 a.m.: A resident of Geiger Lane reported the theft of a motor vehicle. Sometime overnight a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from the driveway. The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside.

On Aug. 3 at 8:15 p.m.: A Countryside Lance resident reported a burglary to his vehicle which occurred sometime between Aug. 2 at 4 p.m. and Aug. 3 at 9:30 a.m. The vehicle was unlocked and a cell phone and charger were taken.

On Aug. 3 at 11:41 a.m.: An Old Stirling Road resident reported his vehicle was burglarized overnight. The vehicle was rummaged through, however no proceeds were taken.

On Aug. 3 at 8:19 a.m.: A Hillcrest Blvd. resident reported a burglary to two unlocked vehicles. Patrol advised proceeds taken were a credit card and a blue zipper pouch.

On Aug. 3 at 8:02 a.m.: A Hillcrest Blvd. resident reported a burglary to an unlocked vehicle. Patrol responded and advised the incident occurred at around 4:26 a.m. The vehicle had been rummaged through, however no proceeds were taken.

On Aug. 2 at 9:47 a.m.: A King George Road resident reported his 2018 Infiniti was stolen from his driveway. Vehicle was unlocked with the keys in it. The vehicle was located in Newark later in the day.
