Stone House Hotel Discussions To Continue Into New Year

The application calls for a three-story, 48-room hotel and underground parking deck at the venue at 50 Stirling Road in Warren.

WARREN, NJ — A public hearing centered around the proposed application to build a hotel on the grounds of the Stone House Restaurant in Warren will be carried into the New Year.

The Warren Zoning Board of Adjustment met on Dec. 8 but discussions were not completed and will be carried to a date in February 2022, said Warren Land Use Coordinator Maryellen Vautin.

A specific date has not yet been set.

The public hearings dating back since last year will continue to discuss the proposed three-story, 48-room hotel at the venue at 50 Stirling Road. The hotel will also have an underground parking deck with 37 spaces.

The proposed hotel will be located in the wooded area to the right of the existing hall near Stiles Road.

Maddy Realty LLC, is seeking two variances. One for use of the land for a hotel and the second for the height of the building. The proposed height exceeds 10 percent of the permitted amount.

The project has drawn some fire from residents in the area so much so that a Facebook group against the overdevelopment in the township was also formed as a result of this application. To learn more about the group click here.
