Bayonne Man Charged With DWI

Nov. 12
Police reported finding damage to street signs and mailboxes along Gates Avenue and some adjacent streets. Some of the signs and mailboxes were sparay painted.

A Sneider Road resident reported damage to a mailbox at 8:12 p.m. The resident said the damage occurred after 5 p.m. tht day.

Nicholas Alongi, 22, of Bayonne, was charged with DWI after the vehicle he was driving on Mt. Bethel Road was stopped at 12:11 a.m. Alongi was also charged with reckless driving, refusing to submit to a breath test, careless driving, failing to stay in a traffic lane, driving with a cracked tailight and driving while his view was obstructed. He was released after the charged were filed, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Nov. 16
Police responded to an accident on Mt. Bethel Road, north of Mountain Boulevard, after a vehicle driven by Sarah Crouch, 27, of Chatham, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Darlene Conrad, 50, of Panama City Beach, Fla., at 7:46 a.m. No injuries were reported in the accident.

Police also responded to an accident on Arlington Court, after a parked car was hit by a vehicle driven by Vasundhar Desu, 40, of Green Brook.
