SWAT Team Responds to Threats in Warren
Warren man threatened to hurt himself and family members, weapons inside the house, police say

The Somerset County SWAT and Hostage Negotiations Team were deployed to a home in Warren early this morning after a 22-year-old township man threatened to hurt himself and family members, police say.
Weapons were also inside the Maxwell Court home, according to a release from the Somerset County Prosecutorās Office.
Warren Township Police reported receiving a call at 6 a.m. on Dec. 6Ā for service from a Suicide Hotline notifying authorities of a potential threat.

āThe threats involved causing harm to himself and family members,ā according to a release from the Somerset County Prosecutorās Office.
Police officers from Warren Township, Watchung Borough, Green Brook Township and Bernards Township responded to the Maxwell Court residence.

Due to the presence of weapons inside the house along with the threats made, the Somerset County SWAT Team/Hostage Negotiations Team were activated around 6:15 a.m.
SWAT team members were later able to make contact with the occupants of the residence around 7:45 a.m. and secured the 22 year old male without incident. He was transported to a medical facility for evaluation.
There were no reported injuries.
