Four vehicles were broken into Wednesday morning in parking lots on Independence Boulevard and at the Somerset Hills Hotel. received the reports between 7:16 a.m. and 10:11 a.m.—the thieves hit three unlocked vehicles in the lot at 20 Independence Blvd. between 7:16 a.m. and 8:31 a.m. alone. No estimate of the value of goods stolen was available, but the items taken from the vehicles included a credit card from one vehicle, numerous tools from another, and a GPS system from the third. All vehicles were also damaged on the steering column. Nothing was taken in the fourth incident, reported at 10:11 a.m., but a door lock and weather stripping were damaged in the attempt to break into the vehicle.
