Business Reports Theft of Grill

Feb. 17

A Mountain Boulevard business reported at 8:06 a.m. someone had taken a Weber Genesis barbeque grill, value at $617.

No summonses were issued after a vehicle driven by John Hein Jr., 44, of Middlesex, struck a vehicle driven by William Ulrich, 71, of Warren, while passing on the right on Washington Valley Road, near Mundy Lane, at 4:22 p.m.

Feb. 15

No one was charged following an accident at about 8 p.m. on Hillcrest Road, after a vehicle driven by Catherine Matus, 79, of North Haledon, struck a vehicle driven by Gregg Kopin, 40, of Summit. No one was injured in the accident, although the Warren Township Rescue Squad responded because airbags in the vehicles deployed.

Feb. 14

Prudencio Mantes, 64, of Whippany, was charged with careless driving after the vehicle he was driving on Mt. Bethel Road, near Technology Drive, side-swiped a vehicle driven by June Gray, 67, of Warren, at about 11:15 a.m.No one was injured in the accident.

At 3:35 p.m., police responded to a report of an accident at the intersection of Morning Glory and Washington Valley roads. No injuries were reported after a vehicle driven by Zachery Iverson, 16, of Green Brook, struck a vehicle driven by James Sorenson, 50, of Martinsville.

Feb. 13

Two residents reported purses stolen from vehicles during the night of Feb. 12- 13.

A Christy Drive resident reported at 7:56 a.m. someone had stolen a purse from a vehicle parked in the property's driveway and damaged the vehicle.

That report was followed by another at 9:02 a.m. from a Buttonwood Lane resident. The resident reported a purse stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Contents of the purses and monetary losses were not reported.
