Four years ago, Jack Horan, 13, decided to forgo his head of hair and take part in a St. Baldrick's head shaving event after hearing his 5-year-old cousin had been diagnosed with neuroblastoma.
Today his cousin is cured, but Horan continues to take part in the annual event and has since raised $37,288 off of his head alone. As a Mitzvah project last year, Horan created Team Jackpot – a St. Baldrick's team comprised of ten other 13-year-old boys who manged to raise $12,552 for this years event.
According to their website, The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a non-profit charity dedicated to beating childhood cancer.
